You need to make sure you not only get a flywheel that "fits" but it also has to be the same amp rating as your stator. There are 9 amp, 16 amp, and 40 amp mercury flywheels that will bolt onto your motor. But you need to match it to your stator or you will have issues. If you have a 9 amp stator and flywheel now, you may think about going ahead and upgrading to 16 amp stator and flywheel (and rectifier), depending on how old your current stator is and if its in need of replacement anyways...

Gee, My '93 Merc V6 is a 40A (dual 20A voltage regulators). I would expect his '94 motor to be the same.....

His is a 40 amp cast iron flywheel as are almost all post '91 Merc flywheels. There are a few 16 amp cast flywheels fro sport jets but you have to look real hard to find them.

My maintenance manual only talks about a 40 amp system. I picked up the flywheel and am just waiting for the puller I ordered to arrive . Thanks for the replies.
