Just a FYI. Mercury just replaced all 3 of my ignition coils on my 08 1.5 litre 75 Optimax. Impressive. I had one fail a month ago and I contacted their customer service to inquire why I was experiencing a failed coil with a low hour motor.
Long story short, they paid to have all three coils replaced even though it was well out of warranty!
I paid $50 for labor and they picked up the parts bill. I know there was a service bulletin on these coils but being well past warranty it was nice to see Merc stepping up to stand behind their product and flip the bill on this.
