I have recently purchased a 1995 225 Pro Max on a 20ft Hewes flats fishing boat. This motor has alot of power and I am playing with the placment on the 12" offset atlas hydraulic jack plate. I have looked in some of the manual and I cannot find the maximium factory rpm rating for this motor. I have been told it was around 7700 rpm. That is very scary to turn a motor that hard. i am runniing about 60 MPH at 6000 RPM's any suggestions.

Yep. 6750 unless the ECU has been modified. Mercury doesnt cut ignition like traditional RPM limiter does. It just goes full rich and some motors will go a little higher like Dukedog said . You can get the ECU modified by Simon Motorsports or you can get an aftermarket ACU from Brucatto with whatever RPM limit you want. Ive got a 7200 limit and the motor pretty much lives there.
