Need to Buy New Control Box

Hi, I have a 40hp Mercury Mariner that has the 8 pin connector on the motor. Will any quicksilver control box with an 8 pin harness work?

As long as the plug is the same. I would try to match the motor to the control, by motor year. The connectors changed at least twice over the years. Not sure what you have.

I had an 8 pin on my '02 90 hp Merc. and bought the Commander 2000 from this site a couple of years ago. Hooked right up. Great control. I especially like the fast idle lever on the top. It has key depression for choke function. When you spin the engine to start, you push in on the key and it sends 12v to either a fuel enrichment solenoid or a mechanical choke linkage to perform the choking function. Real handy.
