Mercury Serial Number

i have tried different site to search the serial number of my Mercury 9.8 (110) but have had no luck finding out the Year of it, it was passed down to me, and im just curious the year of it so i can find a Manuel for it, The serial number on it is 2954661 if anyone could help it will be appreciated!
