From idle to WOT, no in between

Have a 2005 115 HP EFI ouboard that statrd acting up. When it starts it idles ok but as soon as you give it thottle it still idles untill you get up to WOT then it revs up to 4-5000 rpms. Checked the cables and linkage and it all looks good. Any ideas on what it may be?

Check basics first. Sounds like you are dropping spark on cylinders. Check your fuel for possible water contamination, do a compression test and change the spark plugs.

Sorry never got back on this. It was a bad coil on one of the cylinders. So yes it was dropping a spark on cyl #2.
