I'm new to outboards and I just bought a 1999 25hp merc. It runs good but seems like it's running hot, so I changed the impeller & thermostat. I now have a stronger water stream from the telltail, but the driveshaft housing assembly is very hot, water even steams a little off it.
(below the engine and above the waterline...about where the small above water exhaust port is)
Is this normal because of the exhaust ?
