1969 Mercury Kiekaufer 1250. Switched out the lower ends on 2 identical 1250's because of engagement issues. Shifts forward and reverse great, however trim lock is engaged in neutral I have to nudge the control forward to release lock to lift it now. QUESTION: Is it possible to undue the linkage at engine to reposition shaft splines. I have a manual and searched it several times and cannot find info.
