recently purchased this motor...service manual states that motor holds 3 quarts of oil...when I changed oil and put in 3 quarts it was up to the very bottom of the hash mark on the dip stick...I went ahead and added 1 more quart of oil..this brought the level on the dip stick to the top of the hash mark......should I have done this...or just installeed quanity that the manual said.......Thank you for your help....
