I am having an intermittent starting problem on my engine.
Sometimes it just won`t fire...most times it will start and run fine. I cannot fiqure out what is causing this .
Could the nuetral safety switch cause this to happen? Could it be the switch box on the engine?
So strange because it runs great when she decides to fire up.
Frustrated, and no clue what to do next.

Welcome aboard, BB. Neutral switch will not allow the starter to operate, that's all it does. It could be the switch box.
A question back to you. Is it hard to start when the motor is cold, warm or both?

The funny thing is...when it won`t fire..it is when it is cold.
When warm..it starts right up every time.
I have checked the connections pretty thourally and dont see a problem.
I am not really sure how the switch box works?

Are you using the choke and warm-up lever during a cold start.

Yes,
I use the choke and warm up lever when cold starting.
Sometimes it will fire right up..other times...no spark on the plugs. So strange.
Like I said, it is intermittent and I cannot figure it out...yet.

Thanks for your reply...
I figured out my ignition problem...and it was in the distributor.
