I was on the boat the other day and on plane and the boat just cut off. I could not get it fired back up. After looking into it, I realized I had no spark. I disconnected the kill wire black wire with yellow stripe and then tested for spark. I started the boat up and it ran fine without this kill wire connected. The only issue is of course, I could not turn the engine off once it started running without connecting that kill wire back. Any ideas what this could be? Do I need a new switchbox?

I have attached pictures of the wire I disconnected:

Thanks for all the help,

I'm not all that familiar with the switch boxes, but I would doubt you need a new one. If the key still starts it and runs the accessories, then I would look for an individual faulty wire or connection. Were you in rough water when it shut off? (By the way, nice job diagnosing and fixing the problem on the water!). Ive had a buildup of dust and grease that when hit with water shorted out two terminals on a switch before- so take a look for debris behind the key switch and on the relays.
