Control Box Removal - Mercury 40 HP

Restoring a 2002 Tracker Pontoon with 2002 Mercury 40 hp 2-Stroke and need to remove the control box to replace the console. Without a manual, I can't figure out how to get the shift arm off to expose the screws that attach the control box.

Same problem. Got the 2 tough bolts out, but can't get the other 3 to release. They just spin.

There should only be 3 screws that hold the throttle control on. When you say the other 3 are they underneath a snap cover?
