Mercury 85HP 850 Thunderbolt lower unit compatibility

I also have a 1976 Merc. 850 that I need to remove the lower unit on. What is the easiest method of doing this job?

Put the control in neutral. Tilt and lock the motor all the way up. Remove the 5 nuts holding the gearcase to the midsection. Remove the bolt or allen screw holding the zinc anode to the gearcase. Remove the bolt under the anode. Wiggle the gearcase off.
