1976-78 mercury 1150 engine shuts off when running full throttle

Hi I have a 1976-68 mercury 1150-150 when I'm running at half throttle the engine shuts off completely and the water from the pee hole is hot but not hot enough to not be able to hold your hand under it dose anyone have any input thank

Water temp seems ok. Engines with stats have 143F pellets which is about the same temp as a US domestic hot water heater set to normal. What state is your squeeze bulb? Somewhat soft or sucked shut? When it shuts off, how long does it take to get it restarted and how does it run as soon as you do? My two thoughts are you ran it out of fuel or your coil(s) failed. But doesn't that engine have 2 ignition systems, each running 3 cylinders? If so, chase fuel problems since you said it shuts off completely.

Also did you mean while running at WOT or half?
