1979 mariner 25 ....putting head gasket back on?

Is there a special way to tight the bolts back on ...meaning a pattern to do it in and torqueing them down and if so how much torque

Yes, there is a pattern and a torq spec. You need a manual (or a pdf of a page from a manual) to get the info.

If you don't have access to a factory repair manual, the tightening sequence and torque specs. are in the Clymer manual that covers Mariner from 2-220 HP from 1967-1989 (B714). Google "Clymer manual b714" for sources.

Just check out clymer manual that book is 68 bucks ...ima poor man ...lol I was hoping someone on here would already know r have a book to tell me? I can't see my self spending 68 bucks on a paper book

Cylinder Head 24.5-34 N-m
(18-25 ft.-lbs.)

Here is the sequence for the bolts and the best way is to select a low torque and bring them up to the high torque in two or three stages just to ensure uniformity.
