I have a 2002 merc 200 carb which I just dropped on my boat. The boat is older so the controls are too, I have quicksilver controls everything fit the new motor perf but it has no horn?!? Does the motor have one?! How can I test if it has one in the control box? My temp guage hooked up and works but im pretty sure when I turn the key it should beep?! I need the horn it probably would have saved my last motor. Thanks for the help

Re: quicksilver controls horn

If the control electrical matches, it may have a horn. Ground the two temp sensor wires to the block and see what happens, with the ign on. If no horn sounds, you can always install one. BTW - My '93 Merc has a horn, but it does not sound unless the motor overheats. There is no test signal to it.
