1980 Mariner 25 hp. tiller

I have a Mariner 25 HP. Tiller Manual Start. I have a pull choke lever but nothing attacked to it. Mechanic here told me to run some stiff wire from the pull choke to the connection at the butterfly choke on carb. Would this work?

Ok, I will post in the morning. Its done dark here. I just wanna make sure this will work and not fail on me when needed most.

The choke knob is attached to a lever. From the lever to the butterfly valve is pretty much a piece of bent wire (although it is about 3/32" diameter). You can see it here: Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. - INTAKE MANIFOLD - MARINER 30 (see #'s 18, 20 & 22).

Just what I figured. Parts Not Avaible. I will have to work on something homemade.

for item 22, take the p/n and google it and it comes up available at marine engine dot com

Anytime they tell you that the part is NLA, it only means that that vendor doesn't have it.
