I have a mercury 25 hp not sure of the year. I looked up the serial number and it say a 92 but the carb has the square plastic bowl on the bottom. My question is what should the float level be set at and also the needle valve is obsolete but i was told that another motor has the same needle valve he thinks it is a 84 yamaha. Can someone tell me what level my float should be set at and also the replacement needle valve. I dont want to buy the manual because I will sell this motor as soon as it is running. Thanks in advance.

Re: Mercury 25 hp float setting

That s/n comes up as:

MERCURY - ( 25 H.P. (1992 ))
Serial No: 0D116772 Model No: 1025201MD

Parts and Service Bulletin list for s/n 0D116772:

Search Results - Crowley Marine

By looking at the two carburetor sections in the parts list, can you tell me which carb yours has the one with the primer injector system or the one without?

Iboats won't let you post that link. Can't you use the parts list I gave you?

The reason I tried to send that link is the parts list you gave me neither of them matched my carb.

I dont really know anything about the history of the motor. I bought it for $100 price was too good to pass up
it runs just the carb needs to be rebuilt I ordered a carb kit but needle valve is discontinued.
