The serial sticker on the bracket on my 2004 mercury 4stroke efi is really faded and completely unreadable. On my previous outboard, a mariner 50 hp 1996 4stroke, there was a round metal plate on the engine block, close to the oil filter which had the serial stamped to it. But on my 60 I cant find this plate anywhere but I haven't removed and looked behind neither the VST or the intake runners. Anybody knows where to look?

From the manual:

The Outboard serial number is located on the lower starboard side of the engine block. A
serial number is also located on the top side of the swivel bracket

I have looked at the lower starboard side and not seen it. I guess I have to remove the intake runners then since they cover just about everything on the starboard side.

If anyone has a photo or picture it'd help, maybe I don't have ro remove everything...
