How is the rev limiter wired on a 4 cylinder 115? I cant seem to find a wiring diagram that shows it anywhere and the only place I can even find the part number is on the BLOCK part number diagram from mercury. Nothing in electrical. Any idea?

Rev limiters can be internal to the switch box on the ignition.

What is your engine s/n?

If you have the service manual, you can see it as item l under ELECTRICAL - 2D-7 and 2A-25. If you do not have the manual, see my message to you in Notifications at the top of this page.

What is the revision number of your manual? The basic Merc manual is 90-830234, then there are the revisions, R01, R02, R03 and R04.

R03 shows the wiring diagram under 2D-7 and 2A-25 is a description of the circuit

90-13645?? That's the number at the bottom of the cover. Being a PDF I am not positive. Its for the 3 cylinder 70-75-90 and 4 cylinder 100-115. Does that sound right?

90-13645-2 is not the one you want, which is 90-830234.

90-13645-2 only goes up to s/n 0A997142 thru 0D283221.

Whats that? Mercury serial numbers do not have asterisks.

This isnt your social security number. No one is going to track you down and empty your bank account for posting your motors serial number. Mercury serial numbers are one offs and one number different throughout the whole thing will put you in an entire different engine family but if you want to look ANYTHING up in the mercury system you need all the numbers.

Never seen a rev limiter on the 115 prop motors, only on the jet models......

You only need the first 3 numbers to find the proper range. The rest are irrelevant. The asterisks are numbers but being like a car serial number, I really don't want mine all over the net. You never know who is looking.

Well let us know when you see the sections I was referring to as others seem to think it doesn't exist.

I found it and now have the EXACT information I needed. I also have a huge amount of additional info that I am still absorbing. What a great resource. Thank you for your assistance!
