I just recently got a 92 model Mariner from a family member, and he said that the motor has not be run in 6 months or so. I am in the process of replacing all the plugs, plug wires, coils, fuel hoses and anything else that I think will give me problems. The family member says the stator and regulator are only a few months old. When I was taking the carbs apart to clean them I noticed that the main jet that is on top of the carbs has been removed. The repair manual that I have says that those jets are set to factory setting and should not be messed with. Does anyone know what those settings should be?

Normally, only the idle mixture is adjustable. High speed jets are fixed. Your repair manual should give you initial settings for the idle mixture.

Why are you replacing all that stuff? Plugs maybe, but coils can last the lifetime of the motor. Ditto plug wires.

The main jet is in the bottom of the carb.

6 Months is nothing. the only thing I would be concerned with is the impeller, which is ALWAYS over looked.
