1974 mercury 650 reverse locking cam

What is the correct position for the reverse locking cam in neutral on my lower unit a picture would be great

If I get home in time tomorrow I'll take a pic. I have one. I can tell you that in neutral, the hook that goes over the shaft in the transom bracket will be barely off the shaft in forward, and the hook will be locked onto the shaft in neutral. I have to put my motor in forward so the reverse lock will release so I can raise it in order to get my transom saver under the lower unit. Probably not what you wanted to know.......

Most Merc's will lock when in neutral and in the running position. At least the 1975 500 dose that I have. If it has tilt/trim it should not have a reverse lock on it. All the newer motors I have (3) lock down and can only be raised up when the motor is in the FWD position. JMO
