I bent my prop shaft - not bad but enough to oscillate the prop. I'm pretty handy so would like to do it myself. Where can I buy a shaft other than a dealership? I already replaced the prop and thrust washer. What else do I need besides the shaft?

Can it be straightened and if so, is it worth it? Thanks for your help

yes it can be straightened, you need a hammer and a block of wood and a dial indicator and time, or expect to spend 400 plus for a shaft and the tools to change it out.

I would advise against DIY shaft repair unless you have a machine shop. So, your choices are buy a new shaft from Merc for about $275, or have the original straightened by a machine shop for about $50.
