Yamaha-based 30HP - cooling water

Hi,

I have a Yamaha-based Mariner 30.

Putting the flushing muffs on the the engine today I noticed three jets of water from the lower unit, as per the photo (engine not running). I hadn't noticed this before and, having re-fitted the lower-unit this week, wasn't sure if this was supposed to happen or water was getting into the exhaust somehow.

Is this normal?
