1982 4.5 mercury fuel line connector

Would anyone recommend running my gas line direct to the engine instead of using the part#22833 receiver on my 1982 4.5 engine and disconnecting at the tank?

You can run the hose from the tank to the fuel pump/carb straight and it will work fine, but will be a pain if you take the motor off the boat very often. It is best to leave it as it came unless the connectors are leaking air or have gone bad. Then you should replace them. JMO
