1998 75 hp Mercury

While running on plane for about 4 minutes the engine starts skipping and spuddering. When I pull it back to idle it idles fine. Then it will jump right up on plane again and take off for another 4 minutes. I'm at a loss. Idles fine, cranks fine runs full blast and just starts skipping. I checked the fuel bulb and made sure I pumped it when it started sputtering no change. Any ideas what I could check?

Check your air inlet vent at fuel-tank, and all your fuel hoses and connecters.

Could be the pickup tube in the tank is clogging, or fuel pump is getting weak
