i have a 1977 1150 mercury outboard. Two wires go from the stator to a phillips head connection then to a 3 pole rectifier. these wires are yellow with red stripe. my question is when they are connected to the rectifier does it matter as to which to non positive terminal that i connect them to ? Is it possible to make this connection backwards ? any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: wiring a stator to rectifier

Its alternating current coming off the stator. It does not make a difference which way they are connected.
