Hello. I am new to this forum. This is my first post. I recently bought a Sun Tracker 18' Pontoon with a 1993 40 HP Mercury Tracker Pro Series. I noticed some back and forth play of the motor while in the locked position. I pulled the lower unit to replace the Water Pump with a kit and while looking inside, I noticed 2 bolts far inside that seem to have lost rubber bushings or something and allowing the engine to pivot back and forth. I am sure the repair is easy, but would require me to remove the Drive Shaft Housing in order to access those bolts. What is the simplest way to remove the drive shaft housing? Or is it easier to bring the Motor to a shop and let them do it? Any idea of the cost?
