I am not sure how to find the correct service kits for my mercury outboard motor.

The decals on the engine are: "150 HP EFI Off shore"

The Serial number is 0G plus six digits.

On the serial number plate, it says 1998 as the model year and 150 EFIXL.

When I look at thermostats for instance on this site, I see different series of serial numbers.

V150 A904646 & UP
V150 XR4 C239553 C159199
V150 XR6 D082000 & UP
V150 MAG II C239553 4571651

Its OK to post your serial numbers. Thats the only way you can reference parts. One number off on the SN even the end will be a totally different engine group.

The t-stat is 75692 and gasket is 62386 and only sold separate thru OEM . If you want a kit it will be a aftermarket and Sierra # is 18-3672. This t-stat and gasket has been used since early 80's on all the V-6 production motors.

Where can I get the OEM service items for my engine?

What is recommended, aftermarket or OEM?

What about replacing the poppit valve, I did not see it listed.
