i have a 1995 Nitro, with a 125 Merc, it has a commander 3000 panel mount control. when i turn the key to "on" it does not give a test beep from the warning horn. i disconnected the tan/blue wire from the horn and connected a jumper to a ground and the horn sounded fine. anyone know this system that can help me test/correct this issue? thanks, Don

Re: question about warning horn...

Is this a new boat for you? Did it beep in the past? Do you have an engine serial number?

Some of those engines don't have the module that makes the beep at key turn on... If the buzzer works when you ground the tan/blue, that's half the problem solved...

Chris.....
EDIT: Just looked in the manual, and your engine may be one that does have a module. If that's the case, and all the wires to it are good (as is power), the module needs replacing. But to be certain, we do need that serial number.

Re: question about warning horn...

No module on your engine... So, the only sound you should hear is the beautiful sound of silence.... Until there's an overheat, then all heck should break lose.... :D
