Is there any reason to not use High Performance Gear oil on Outboards lower than 75Hp as it states on the bottle its recommended for 75hp+. Thanks

no the gearcases are basically the same design. Just marketing hype.

However you should consider using marine hypoid type oil. The main thing is that marine gear oils are made with an additive that helps them cling to metal and prevent rust and corrosion. None of the regular GL series of gear oils, of which I am aware, have this additive as they aren't usually subjected to the same type environment....unless you go mudding and get buried up to your running boards with goo.....maybe then. Grin
