Hi There,
I'm having a bit of an issue with my outboard. A couple of weeks ago I was out fishing and everything seemed normal. I was anchored for a while but once I was ready to go and turned the ignition a solid alarm sounded. The motor started without an issue, but when I engaged the throttle I could not go faster than trolling speed (which I understand is normal). Anyways, when I docked, I checked the oil level and it was extremely low, which was strange, but I topped it up thinking that that was the problem. But after starting the engine again, the alarm persisted.
I am not a marine mechanic, but through some research I determined that the issue could be low oil pressure. What I am not certain of, is how to resolve the problem. Can anyone assist?
Thanks,
Seb
