I have a 2010 Merc 150 Optimax with remote oil tank. The tank does not vent, and I occasionally have to loosen the gap to free the vacuum and re-tighten it. Is there any fix for this ?
Jack, that tank is not supposed to be vented. The motor pumps it up with pressure to force oil into the engine oil tank. A couple of check valves keep the engine tank full.
