1993 25hp mercury outboard

I need help on my mercury!! does not want to stay idol when started ,,but if I pull start it and hurry up and put it in gear it will stay running but once I put it in neutral it dies!! Plz any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Clean your carb,probably dirt.

Turn the idle screw in Gently in CW to seat. count the revolutions. That will tell what the idle screw was set. Normally the screw is set at 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 out from seat. A 2 stroke Correct???
