I ruptured a fuel line between the fuel pump and the inline filter. I replaced the connection with new fuel line but the linkage for the throttle will not stay attached now. Not sure why. The fuel hose I used is slightly bigger in diameter overall than what was initially there. The 4 inch chrome linkage with the ends bent at about 75 degrees fit into plastic retainers on the butterfly assembly and the area where the set idle screw is located. Once I get the linkage in place, I can use the throttle to move the linkage fully open and back to neutral and into reverse and back but it pops out and will not stay in place. Any suggestions>??

Those retainers (bushings) need spun a little bit.
spin them so that when you snap the link into the bushing the two high flaps on the bushing straddle the link and hold it nice and snug
The end on the right needs spun 180 deg and snapped in.
The end on the left spun about 30 deg.
careful, they are about 8 bucks a piece
