Hi I was wondering if any one can help me find a part for my sister & brother n laws Mercury 115 6 cylinder. I am not sure of the year I will have to ask them to find out year which will help. The part I am looking for holds the throttle cables in place which is at the bottom of the carbs inside the cover right in front. Is there a place to find pictures to look at? Thank you for your help.

Re: Mercury 115 throttle cable part?

Randy, it would be best to have the engine s/n, however here are two links, one for the shift cable attachment and one for the throttle cable attachment from a 1984 model.

If the cables are disconnected from the engine at the moment, the shift cable will be the first one to move when you shift into Fwd gear. In this link:

Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. - BOTTOM COWL AND SHIFT LINKAGE - 90/115 H.P. (INLINE)

The shift cable attaches at the point where you see nut and washer, items 17/18

The throttle cable attaches to the lever, item 1 in this link:

Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. - THROTTLE LEVER AND LINK RODS - 90/115 H.P. (INLINE)

Are these the areas, you are looking for?
