8HP 2 Stroke Mariner identification

I just purchased a 8 HP Mariner and I am trying to determine the year so I can order some parts, every website says the serial number does not exist?
There is a plate on the engine frame that says:

Model - Mariner 8ML
Code 6G1 L
Serial Number 320117

The code number you have listed is actually the beginning of the s/n, therefore 6G1-320117 and it comes up as:

8C ML 6G1-314878 - 1986 (All s/ns after 6G1-314878 as yours is were built in 1986)
