Hi, as I am very unknowledgeable about boat motors, I need those of you more experienced to give input. I have a 2008 pontoon boat with a 50 HP 4-Stroke Mercury Motor that has only been used each summer for two or three outings. I do the recommended winterizing procedures as to gas/fluids, etc. As I planned a nice Father's Day at the lake, the plan did not pan out! The motor would not turn over at all, and the power trim sounded like it was working, but would not go up or
down. I install new battery, checked fuses, no corrosion, and I used the voltage tester to check solenoid. Turned key on and
power was going from solenoid to starter. The only other thing I can think of is to see if there is a malfunction in the safety
key. Any other ideas or advice to help will be greatly appreciated to get the motor and power trim working.
Thanks,
Dean P
