1988 mercury 80 hp oil injection issue

i just rebuilt the fuel pump in my motor. Along with that I replaced the hose from the oil pump to the fuel pump. Now when I start it the oil only goes about half way up the hose to the fuel pump. Do I need to prime it some how.. if so does someone know the procedure?

YEs and your motor is not getting oiled now...you need to bleed off the pump....get a manual...if it were me I would premix as all of my motors we premix...no chance of engine failure..You need to put oil in your tank with the gas until you can bleed off your system or your motor will be toast!

Can you just start premixing or do you have to "turnoff" the oil injection ??
