This is an update for an old problem i have never managed to solve. I have a mercury optimax 200 year 2006. This engine Stalls on idle. Apart from the idleing problem engine works great. Problem has started about 5 years ago below you will find all things we have tried to solve the problem but till today with no success. Anyone has any suggestions or has had the same problem please let me know.
Below please find all things my dealer has tested and changed.
* fuel pressure and air pressure ok 80 and 95 psi.
* replaced tracker diaphram as he found some fuel when trying with the gauges.
* cleaned fuel system
* replaced also diaphram kit on fuel lift pump.
* replaced spark plugs
* cleaned vst and placed new gasket.
* cleaned and drained the fuel rails.
* compressor replaced reed plates too.
* cleaned map sensor.
* tried engine on a separate fuel tank it did same.
* tried injector test - what noticed was that on activation of injector with engine off i noticed that the injector drops the pressure on the fuel from 40 psi and stops at 20 psi even though the injector keeps on working the cycle from the pc.
* replaced throttle position sensor.
* Have done a misfire test - all results ok
* have done a coil test - all results ok
* have done and injector test + Direct injector test - all results okay
* have done an ignition test - results ok
Lately have changed one of the batteries but problem remained the same.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know
