Hi, New to the site and owning a boat so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Here's the break down

1989 Mercury 8HP (2 stroke)
has been running great until long day trolling that ten the tank dry. Since then Starts ok idle seems high although misfires. plugs are wet when removed. so far I've

1. checked compression 110 in both cyl.
2. replaced gas tank and cleaned bulb and all fuel lines (new fuel filter)
3. removed carb rebuild kit after soaking in carb cleaner, cleaned jets with fine copper wire and blew out with air prior to reinstall. (oh and sea foam ran through carb prior to removal).Slow mix screw reset to factory specs.
4. Carb kit came with fuel filter diaphragm and gaskets so replaced as well.

Since the above
1.engine still misfires
2. now I have to squeeze bulb intermittently to prevent stalling (wondering if gasket order in fuel pump is wrong ( manual was not very clear)
3. two final questions/comments
1. the road in and out of the lake was externally bumpy (shake something loose?)
2. I'm not sure where the throttle linkage attaches under the fly wheel (not in the manual)
any feedback/suggestions are much appreciated!

thanks

Open the low speed needle a 1/8 of a turn at a time and it should go away

All it took was 1/8 of a turn. Amazing! Thanks so much for the advice!

This reminds me of that joke:

"Holy Crap $125 to turn a screw 1/8 of a turn!!!!!????"

No sir, the charge is 50 cents to turn the screw, and $124.50 for knowing which screw to turn.
