I took out my 16 ft Key Largo this past weekend with a Mercury 60 hp for the first time this season. Right off the dock I was having trouble getting on plane. I pulled into a cove out of the wind and calmer water and was able to get on plane, but my top speed was only 20mph when I usually get to 32-35. I do not have a rpm gauge, but it did not sound like it was getting high RMP's. I know it's tough for a full diagnosis with this amount of info, but does anyone know where I should start or common problems?
