I have a 1996 40 HP Force motor right now and am looking for a bigger motor. My motor says "by Mercury Marine" under Force on the motor cover. I found a 1988 Mercury 80HP motor and wondering if I could swap out just the motors or if I'd have to swap out all of the controls and everything? Does anyone know if there are any other manufacturers of motors I could look at where I could just swap out motors?
