I recently acquired a 1998 Mercury 9.9 2 stroke long shaft with electric start that was off a remote shift & control setup. I believe the boat originally was a tiller model that was converted to a remote but I need the motor to operate as a tiller. Before I get too deep in possibly converting the motor back to a tiller, can anyone look at the photos below and determine if the motor will shift from the tiller or do I need to add a side shift handle? Will I need a lot of parts to attach the tiller throttle linkage to the existing linkage? I don't want to start accumulating the wrong parts. Also, it appears that a used tiller handle assembly that I plan to purchase will come with a kill switch, where is the kill electrical lead attached on the motor?

Thanks for any feedback.
