1971 Mercury 150hp

I am possibly going to buy a 1971 grady white with a 1971 150hp Mercury. The guy says that pistons sleeves rings bearings etc are all new. Motor has around 80 hrs after it has been rebuilt (he is guessing). what should the compression be on this motor? Is paying 2500 for boat and motor a good deal or am I paying to much? Any information on 1971 Merc would be great!! Are these good engines?

Mercurys first 150 HP was 1974 130 lbs compression or better on a new rebuild. Remember if they lie on the year or HP, it will probably be followed with other lies.
