Hi All. I'm converting my Merc 200 20HP to remote control and need a little advice please.
I've got the control cables hooked up and working. The last thing I need to do is complete the wiring. I have an original harness and I know how the harness is wired. My problem is that I can't figure out how to install the electric choke solenoid. I know the clever people at Mercury designed a very complex system for the transmission and throttle control cables and I've got all that installed and it works properly but I still have to manually choke it. I found a used solenoid and cable for this model on ebay and it tested good but I can't figure out how to mount the solenoid? Sounds pretty lame I know but it just doesn't seem to have anywhere to attach it to the motor that doesn't interfere with the electronic box and/or shift controls.
Does anyone have a picture of how, or where, the electric choke solenoid is installed. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
