1987 45 HP mariner high rpm at idle 0b137066

45 mariner s/n 0B137066, Had a bad trigger and switch box, replaced those,.. in forward gear idles 3-4000 on timing tach.
any ideas as to where to start? THX

First make sure you have the right trigger, if you do you will have to check to make sure the trigger goes back and forth to both stops and if the first two things are right make sure the trigger wires are hooked to the right terminal then check the timing as the engine is running to far in the advance to idle at the correct speed.
