Hey guys been a while since last post but have had a time with the 1977 Mercury 150 I have, well I have removed the 150 and I am picking up a 1982 Mercury 115 Thurs, well I know the boat side harness plugs up differently. 77' side mount and the 82 goes straight in and plugs under cowling, My question is can I splice the wiring to retain my controls or is the best route to use he controls with the 115 ? I currently have the tilt and trim on the throttle and the controls with the 115 does not have t/t function, My boat already has the t/t switches on the dash, just not used as their on the throttle . Guess I'm trying to wrap my head around the T/T is basically a stand alone system ? Right? Or is their wiring from control box to T/T ? Thanks

The motor electrics can be adapted by grafting a new motor plug onto your old harness, or by soldering the new motor harness to the ign key. I looked up the '82 Merc 115HP, and it appears to use the same PTT system as your '77. You should be able to swap it over, unless the new motor is not an '82.

Thanks Chris, I decided to use the 115 controls so no wire splicing and just use the T/T on the dash. Back to it in a few days . Thanks again
