I have just pulled the boat out from winter storage and saw a puddle of oil under the lower unit. It appears to be leaking from where the prop meets the lower unit housing. Are there seals inside there which need to be replaced and how hard of a job is it? Special tools?

I will check it tonight. I didn't notice that gear oil smell as I wiped it off the floor but it was more gewy then engine oil.

It thats the case where does the oil come from? Could it be that when I fogged the engine last fall that some of the fogging oil leaked out? I plan to change the lower lube either way.

It just old oil worked lose in the exhaust housing usually. Two stroke loopers/crossflows have some unburnt fuel coming through when the exhaust ports open and this sticks to the walls.
The fogging oil all adds to this
