Hi All,
I have changed my water pump many times, without a problem. Now I cannot put the lower unit back on. The copper water tube will not line up with the hole at the top by the powerhead, therefore no amount of flywheel turning will help. Is there a trick to get both the drive shaft and the copper water tube to line up????My son and I spent over an hour with no luck. If I place the copper water tube up inside the engine, it will not stay and just falls out. Plus I don't know how it would line up with the water pump housing as I can't see the tube when the lower unit is inserted.
thanks in advance for any help.

On a lot of those motors, the watertube fits into a rubber seal. If it comes out, it can be difficult to put in. I recommend you put some lube on it and try to seat it into the midsection first. After than, it should fit into the impeller housing.
